French, Spanish, and Italian Full Year Curriculum

When I first began my teaching career, I had practically no high-quality teaching resources at my disposal.  My district already had an established curriculum, and I did have access to (no joke) the same exact textbook that I had used as a freshman in high school when I was learning the language…but I knew that the resources available to me were insufficient if I really wanted to engage my language learners.

Many teachers find themselves in a similar predicament, or perhaps even worse… with no access to any district-provided curricula, and they’re left scrambling at the start of the school year to design a curriculum, and to create and curate resources to help them meet their curricular objectives.

I’ve heard from novice teachers who are overwhelmed and stressed by the lack of support. I’ve heard from mid-career teachers who have had their curriculum suddenly changed and, as a result, are forced to start from scratch. I’ve heard from World Language teachers who have been asked to teach a different language and now they’re scrambling to assemble materials. And lastly, I’ve also heard from veteran teachers who have been using the same materials for years but are in search of newer materials to engage this new generation of learners.

I wish I had a complete, high-quality, engaging World Language Curriculum to get me through my first few years in the classroom. In this blog post, I’m going to share everything you need to know about my French 1 Curriculum Bundle, Spanish 1 Curriculum Bundle, and Italian 1 Curriculum Bundle, which are quite honestly the exact resources I needed.

French Spanish Italian World Language Curriculum

What is the Full-Year Curriculum Bundle?

The full-year Curriculum Bundle—offered in French, Spanish, and Italian—is a collection of dozens of comprehensive and engaging resources that quite literally take the vast majority of teacher prep completely out of the equation. Investing in this curriculum will save you countless hours, as the unit planning, resource creation/curation (including instructional materials AND practice games/activities/worksheets), and assessments are already done for you.

Geared toward novice language learners, these Curriculum Bundles would be PERFECT for students who are in their first year of middle or high school World Language, so a French 1, Spanish 1, or Italian 1 class. (Also great if you split level one into two years. For example: French 1A / French 1B.)

Including over 10+ units, these comprehensive bundles contain plenty of materials to last you the entire year (and beyond!). These bundles are comprised of thousands of pages worth of high-quality materials, including…

What Are The Perks of These Curriculum Bundles?

These Curriculum Bundles are comprehensive, engaging and time-saving. My goal here at World Language Resources has always been to save you time and mental bandwidth so that you can be more present in the classroom, teaching and engaging your students in the language-learning process. By investing in the Curriculum Bundle, you will enjoy the following benefits:

  1. Fully-Prepped Instructional Materials: EDITABLE Google Slideshows, Student Guided Notes, Vocabulary Lists, Grammar Tutorials, Flashcards, and more. You won’t have to think about what to teach or how to teach it: the work’s already been done for you!

  2. Practice Worksheets, Games, and Activities: Students need a lot of practice to move along the continuum of mastery. I include plenty of classwork activities, homework assignments, sub plans, proficiency tasks, and other resources to help your students practice the content that you’ve just taught.

  3. Editable Digital Components: Most curricula that you’ll find on TPT are loaded with PDFs that you can’t edit. As a World Language teacher who is still in the classroom, I know how important it is to be able to modify certain resources to best suit the needs of our students. In this bundle, you’ll gain access to fully-customizable projects and rubrics as well as digital learning and practice activities to keep your students engaged both in class and at home.

  4. Formative & Summative Assessments: You’ve taught the material and your students have practiced, but how do you know how much they’ve absorbed? For each unit in the Curriculum Bundle, there are ample formative and summative assessment materials to help you assess student learning and pinpoint strengths and weaknesses. You’ll gain access to Exit Tickets, Vocabulary & Grammar Quizzes, Projects / Presentations (with Assessment Rubrics included!), Roleplays, and Writing/Speaking Assessments.

  5. Growing Bundles! And last but not least, please note that the French, Spanish, and Italian 1 Curriculum Bundles are *GROWING BUNDLES*, which means that once you make a purchase, you will have access to all future updates and additions at no additional cost!

    • As a classroom teacher, I am constantly thinking of new activities, language games, and projects to help my students learn more effectively. Once I test new ideas in my classroom, I refine them and add them to the curriculum bundles!

What Supports Are Available to Teachers?

It’s important to me that World Language teachers have access not only to high-quality resources, but to high-quality pedagogical materials as well. Therefore, as a FREE BONUS, by investing in the Curriculum Bundle you will also get the World Language Curriculum Guide, which contains the following teaching supports for each unit:

  • Unit Objectives

  • Scope & Sequence

    • Vocabulary/Grammar Topics

    • Proficiency Targets & Skills

    • Suggested Pacing Guide

    • Assessment Information

    • Enrichment & Extension Ideas

  • Sample Unit Plan Templates

I want to make your unit and lesson planning process as smooth as possible. The Curriculum Guide comes as a 40-page PDF and Editable Google Doc, so you can either print it, hole-punch it, and stick it in your teaching binder, or you can modify and customize it to best suit your needs before printing.

Here is a sample of the the Unit Objectives, Scope & Sequence, and Sample Unit Plan Template for the School Unit:

Use the materials as they come (they are already fully prepped and classroom tested!) or modify them to best suit your needs. The Curriculum Guide, much like the resources included in the Curriculum Bundles, is intended to provide you with the support and versatility to use as much (or as little!) as you need to lessen your teaching workload.

Some teachers will use these materials as they come, and simply print and go… others will use them as the basis for their planning, adding and subtracting as needed… and still, others will just use these materials for inspiration, perhaps adding a few things to their already-existing unit/lesson planning materials. It’s all up to you!
